Adobe lightroom classic 10.3 mac1/23/2024 Now it has been sitting in “preparing to restore” for a couple of hours now. It sat in “preparing to restore” for a while, so I’ve tried restarting the restore from Time Machine process. I’m trying to revert back to Mojave with all of my apps, files, and settings by restoring from Time Machine. I upgraded to Monterey 2 days ago not realizing that my 32-bit vsts and such would not work on it. I backed up to Time Machine while still in Mojave (extended journaled). Trying to revert to Mojave from Monterey I have a 2018 MacBook Pro that came with Mojave. If they were updated with third party software (like Lightroom), those should be ok. (3) If you have updated files with Apple's built in applications, those may or may not be compatible with an older MacOS. I provide a link above to Apple's older MacOS installers. The OS is on a sealed volume that is read only to you, you cannot replace it, only Apple installers can do that. This is a security measure, it's one of the reasons there are no viruses that can affect Macs. (2) No, you have to reinstall from Apple's servers. The OS can only be installed or restored from the Apple servers directly. With Monterey or Ventura, the Time Machine backup backs up only your files, not the OS. The Apple Store will not do this, it has to be a third party shop. If you want help with the system installation/reversion, I suggest you find an Apple Authorized Service Provider who will do this for you, for a fee. Much simpler would be to keep Adobe Lightroom up to date and stay with the latest MacOS. So you may need to restore from a backup further in the past. Installing an older MacOS may mean you now have incompatible version of Photos Libraries, Apple Mail, Notes, Stickies, etc. You should have several good backups of all your files before embarking on this task. You can revert to older MacOS by downloading their installers from here: How to download macOS - Apple Support Note that with the Adobe CC program ($9.99/month), you can use the latest version of Adobe Lightroom Classic and that is compatible with Ventura. I would instead upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Lightroom. That is fairly involved and will leave you out of date on the MacOS, which means you won't be up to date on security and eventually your Mac will become obsolete on an older MacOS. I don't recommend that you try to revert to an earlier version of MacOS. However, the version of Lightroom Classic that Adobe states is compatible with Ventura is version 12.Īre you able to update or upgrade your Lightroom Classic to version 12? Launch Lightroom and select Help => Updates? Lightroom Classic 2019 was, I believe, Lightroom Classic version 8 or 9. I feel hopeless and overwhelmed by all this and also if there is someone I can take this to and pay to fix I would be happy to do so too. Is there a way I can find out what version of Ventura or Monterey is saved in each of my Time Machine Updates.Ģ) If I revert back to an old version, is it as simple as choosing and saying RESTORE to that back up?ģ) As I have updated images and files since the last back up, how do I reinstate the updated files after I have rolled back the operating system?Īnyway, sorry for these newbie questions. So now I want to roll back, even to the previous version of Ventura or Monterey.ġ). Needless to say it is extremely disruptive. My Lightroom Classic screen sometimes flashes like crazy for like 10-30 seconds going into rapid flash until it stops. Then recently I updated to 13.3.1 when the system prompted me for the update thinking it was good for security and bug fixes and then all the problems started. On the first version upon upgrading I did not have any issues with Lightroom Classic 2019 and continued to use it for many months with no issues that I was aware of. I successful upgraded to Ventura on my 2018 Macbook Pro. Apple system updates always encourage to the latest OS for security etc so I did it thinking I was doing what I was supposed to this year. First of all, not being so computer savvy, I had no idea there would be a compatibility issue when I upgraded to Ventura.
